In this video I explain what Dynamic EQ is and demonstrate some great ways to use it in a mix. It’s an excellent tool to help level out your tracks and make your mix sound more professional and smooth. I show how to use dynamic EQ to level out an acoustic guitar performance to make it fit in the mix better and discuss many other great places to use the technique.
Dynamic EQ is not the same as multiband compression and I hope by the end of the video you understand the key differences. It can be used to remove resonant peaks in your audio and remove offending frequencies. You can gain a lot more precision than with multiband compression and have a lot more control of the band/filter types used.
